Booking Time Slots for Mast Removal

Members book reserved time slots for mast removal. Slots will be available beginning this Tuesday, October 1st until Thursday, October 17th.

Your slot will be confirmed once you hear back from one of the mast crane committee members via email or Slack confirming the booking. If you have not received a confirmation reach out to Tony Gallena by email (tony.gallena@gmail.com or via Slack to confirm that a mast crane operator will be available).

De-masting requires 2 volunteers in addition to the mast crane committee member
The mast crane committee member is the only person authorized to operate the mast crane
Each time-slot is 45 minutes long. This is tight, but in order to get everyone's mast down in time for Haul Out, we will need everyone to have everything ready by the time that their turn comes up. (In other words, the time that you have booked is that time that you arrive at the dock with everything prepared, as described below.)
At your designated time, you are expected to be at the dock and ready to de-mast. If a boat is already at the crane you may tie up on the other side or behind the boat at the crane.

Volunteers Needed to help move dinghies into north lot for the winter and clean up of upper/center lot.

I'll have some work gloves, but if you have your own please bring them. Please wear appropriate footwear and clothing.

Dinghy members please ensure that you've prepped your dinghy for winter storage (cover, mast etc). Kindly ensure that your dolly or trailer wheels are inflated/in good working order.

If you do not have winter storage, please ensure your dinghy is removed from the premises by October 16th as cradle set up is expected to begin October 17th.

Floating Docks - haul out preparation (October 20, 2026)

Volunteers needed to assist with

- disconnecting large floating dock sections

- removing & marking mooring chains, and securing all dock platforms in preparation for haulout

- preparing ground area where dock sections will be placed for winter storage

Please dress appropriately for the weather and bring work gloves if you have them.

If you have tools (we could always use an extra ratchet set!)

⛵ ️ Registration for 2026 Haulout work crew positions (October 22, 2026)

Haulout is on October 22, 2026. We are hoping to do a one-day haulout this year. Because the haulout is during the week, we appreciate that many skippers will not be able to attend. We are organizing the haulout so that we will be able to haul out all boats regardless of whether the skippers are able to attend or not.

Shift times:

Morning shift: 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM (please ensure you arrive early for shift start)

Afternoon shift: 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM

Notes:

First time volunteering? This guide will tell you what to expect on launch / haulout

Lead sling handlers will be registered separately. A waitlist for filled-up roles will be available. All positions will be confirmed by email closer to haulout.

Please wear safety gear (provided) and weather-appropriate clothing. Sling handlers must wear gloves and steel toe boots. Any volunteers who refuse to wear safety gear (as advised by the safety officer or a member of the launch / haulout committee) will be asked to leave the event and will forfeit their volunteer work hours.
