Sail Past - Postponed!

Postponed!

Unfortunately, due to the high water levels, which do not seem to be receding as expected, we will have to postpone our Sail Past scheduled for this coming weekend - Saturday, July 6th. The inability for the Keelboat members to load and unload passengers and supplies at the docks presents logistical problems that would impact participation. We’re sorry for the late notice. Hopefully the water levels will soon recede allowing us to re-schedule and plan a fun event for all members.

***************************************************************

Our Sail Past will take place this year on Saturday, July 6th with the Skipper’s Meeting at 11:00 AM

The Sail Past is a fun event that allows all members to gather on and off the water. The Commodore, Bob Stevenson, will anchor a boat in the bay while everybody gathers in the area. On a pre-arranged signal, the Fleet Captain (Tom Wharton) will lead the boats past the stern of the Commodore’s boat. Sail boats will “dip” their headsail, paddlers will wave or salute. After all boats have passed, we will have a “See the Island Race” followed by a special BBQ.

You will find some background information on the tradition of the sail past here: https://www.sailbroadreach.ca/the-tradition-of-sail-past/

We hope to see everyone there!

Our club is near the foot of Dowling Avenue, on the water's edge between Argonaut Rowing Club and the Boulevard Club. To park, turn south onto Net Drive from Lake Shore.
